The Beatles' Abbey Road Piano For Sale

Since 1962 The Beatles have created some of the most highly-acclaimed and influential music in the world. Now, the piano used by the Beatles to record ‘Paperback Writer’ at London’s Abbey Road studios has joined the wealth of priceless memorabilia on the market.

The band that inspired generations of musicians have had a fair share of their legacy hit the auction house, now a truly iconic piece of memorabilia has emerged for sale.

The Challen upright piano comes with a story of its own. Covered in cigarette burns and coffee stains, this vintage and classic piano is an authentic part of musical history, used by bands such as Pink Floyd alongside the greatest Rock and Roll band of all time.

Stephen Maycock, consultant specialist for Beatles memorabilia at Bonhams auction house stated, “I think it is the first instrument from the Abbey Road Studios to come on the open market”. The Challen piano is expected to go for more than £100,000.

This unique part of musical history was retired in 1980s and will be sold at auction at the Vintage Goodwood festival in West Sussex, England on August 15th.
