The Carrera Heuer-01 Full Black Matt Ceramic Timepiece by Tag Heuer

By Paul Joseph

The latest offering from Swiss watch makers Tag Heuer is an intriguing creation called the Carrera Heuer-01 Full Black Matt Ceramic.

Dark and brooding in appearance, the matt black watch is expected to be unveiled at the SIHH Geneva Watch Fair which takes place later this month.

The case, bezel, lugs, and case band are all created from micro-blasted black ceramic and a steel core allows for more precisely fitted screws, gaskets, and threaded components. The caseback is a satin-finished black titanium carbide with a sapphire crystal disc in the centre to flaunt the movement.

Inside the 45mm case is the brand’s in-house T Caliber 01 movement which allows for a 50-hour power reserve and is equipped with a column-wheel chronograph mechanism and automatic winding.

The dial is skeletonised which means the all black components of the movement are visible behind the three subdials and add to the watch’s dramatic appearance.

The Carrera Heuer-01 Full Black is available in two variants, one with a matte black ceramic strap and one with a sporty rubber strap. The ceramic model will be priced at $6,300.

Founded in St-Imier, Switzerland in 1860, Tag Heuer has grown to become one of the world’s most famous luxury watch makers.
