The $10,000 Absolut Crystal Pinstripe Bottle

By P. Joseph

Swedish Spirit brand Absolut Vodka has teamed up with compatriot design duo Skogsberg&Smart to create a limited edition range of crystal bottles inspired by Saville Row pinstripe tailoring.

Limited to just 10 pieces, each individually engraved, numbered and signed by its designers, the black bottle is presented in a handmade treasure chest, clad in pinstripe fabric, complete with two matching crystal tumblers. The price of each exclusive bottle is expected to be in the region of $10,000 (£6,400). There are also 700 non-black bottles priced at around $1,500 (£962) each.

It is the second time that Absolut have collaborated with celebrated Swedish designers Magnus Skogsberg and Mimmi Smart to create crystal vodka bottles, this time reinterpreting their original design using superior quality crystal from the esteemed Reijmyre glassworks in southern Sweden.

“The Savile Row pinstripe has inspired us both in the bold and simple sophistication of the pattern and in the uncompromising attitude to craft, where each garment is tailored to perfection, just like our bottles,” said designer Mimmi Smart.

Fellow designer, Magnus Skogsberg, added: “Our theme is all about the classics with a twist on the original handicraft.

“We design for people who are passionate about very special, personal objects of exquisite quality.”

The crystal sets will be available from this Autumn/Winter at selected airports and premium retailers around the world.
