The $8,000 Exercise Desk From Hammacher Schlemmer

The $8,000 elliptical desk operates as both office furniture and as exercise equipment, enabling workers to keep fit whilst getting on with their working day.

The machine is designed to use at a slow enough pace to avoid breaking a sweat but fast enough to still burn calories. Hammacher Schlemmer claims that it can help the average desk employee to burn about 4,000 calories a week.

The desk comes with adjustable height features, and can be used in several positions, including standing up. It has a 4″ x 6″ LED screen that flashes data including calories burned, distance, watts and rpm whilst being used.

A silver tone metal base in a white laminate surface ensures the desk fits in with conventional office furniture.
