The Limited Edition AR-1 Supercar by Alessi Fiberglass

By Paul Joseph

A US car-making company has created a limited edition sports car boasting an external chassis made primarily of fibre glass.

Designed by Nick Alessi, founder of Alessi Fiberglass Inc and an expert in the use of fibre glass material, the AR-1 Supercar also includes extensive use of eleven gauge steel for the underskirting of the structure, making it comparatively light weight, but extremely high on tensile strength.

Limited to just 50 units, the car features a V8 LS3 6.2-litre aluminium block engine providing 600HP, and with a 103.6mm bore and 92mm stoke.

Other notable features include a 5-speed manual transmission that can take the engine from 0-100 km/ph in around 3.4 seconds and enables the car to reach a top speed of 322 km/ph.

The car’s interior comes with several customized options, including leather, wood or any other fabrics, as well as preferred dimensions for the positioning of the seats. Also included are cut pile carpeting, dual-power side mirrors, security alarm system, rear view mirror with camera for parking assistance, air conditioning and heating arrangements, GPS tracking system, and tilted steering.

Alessi Fiberglass says that the price of the AR-1 Supercar is dependent on the level of customisation requested and is not revealed until a full order has been made.
