The Mille Miglia Racing in Pink from Chopard

By P. Joseph

House of Chopard, the luxury Swiss watchmaker, has given its new collection a feminine touch ahead of the historic Mille Miglia car rally, which it has sponsored for over twenty years.

Each year the Geneva-based brand designs a new collection in honour of the event which sees classic cars parade through Italy. This year the company has come up with a sporty women's watch called Racing in Pink – available in both steel and diamond set bezel.

Limited to 1,000 pieces for the steel version and 250 for the diamond, each watch boasts a bold pink steel-caged dial and a pink tyre-thread motif strap featuring the 1960s Dunlop Racing tyre-tread motif.

The timepiece houses a mechanical self-winding movement visible through the open case-back and beating at a frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour.

The watch was recently unveiled at the BaselWorld watch and jewellery show in Switzerland.

Chopard has been making watches since 1860.
