The Otturatore Timepiece From de Grisogono

By Paul Joseph

One of the most striking timepieces to have launched this year is the limited-edition Otturatore Timepiece from Swiss luxury jeweller de Grisogono.

Officially launched in September, the Otturatore, which is limited to just 55 pieces worldwide, features a clockwise rotational dial that is said to work at 18 times the speed of a human eye blink.

Housed in a golden chassis (44mm wide and 50mm tall) of 4 corners, the wrist watch features a carved push button on the ride hand side, with hours are minutes in the form of golden markings on the white based dial sides.

The watch’s casing metal is available in rose and white gold, whilst the dial comes in brown, white, black or ruthenium satin finish. The strapping is stitched genuine alligator, whilst the case back is sapphire crystal.

The Otturatore Timepiece is available from de Grisogono’s Madison Avenue store in New York, priced at $84,400 (£54,000).
