The Row New York: Manhattan Gets New Luxury Hotel

Already teeming with high-end accommodation, visitors to Manhattan now have another option thanks to the opening of The Row New York in a building formerly occupied by The Milford hotel.

The creation of architectural and interior design firm Gabellini Sheppard Associates, the new residence is situated at 700 de 9th Avenue and features 1,331 bright subway line colour-inspired rooms boasting Times Square billboard-style graphics over the beds.

The Row is also home to evocatively-designed hallways that guests on a walking tour of New York’s downtown neighbourhoods via commissioned images of Soho, Greenwich Village and the Lower East Side.

A dedicated food market, City Kitchen, will also open in the hotel this summer, with cuisine from renowned New York City restaurants offering their fare to hotel guests and passers by alike.

Other notable features in the hotel include a 24-foot high crystalline glass façade and grand staircase, and two light sculptures on which innovative New York-based artist Yorgo Alexopoulos projects graphic animations in the reception.
