The Saint-Valentin Chronograph From Blancpain

By Paul Joseph

Historical Swiss watch-maker Blancpain has unveiled its annual timepiece celebrating Valentines Day, which falls on February 14th.

Blancpain has made a tradition out of launching a romance-inspired timepiece at this time of year, and the company’s 2012 edition is one of the most striking yet.

Available exclusively at Blancpain boutiques, the Saint-Valentin Chronograph 2012 features a number of heart motifs on the watch’s engraved mother-of-pearl dial. Meanwhile a delicate heart-shaped counterweight – hand painted with a father – adorms the central sweep seconds’ hands.

The watch’s white gold case dazzles with splendour, boasting diamond-set bezel and lugs, a caseband set with four diamonds, a heart-shaped ruby, a crown adorned with a diamond and pushpieces covered with cabochon-cut rubies.

Other notable features include a self-winding Calibre F185 movement and a white allegator leather strap, whilst the timepiece comes presented in a sleek wooden box lined with white nappa leather.

Blancpain was founded by Jehan-Jaques Blancpain in 1735.
