The Spa & Wellness Menu Post COVID-19

By Christina Tsangaris

The Windjammer Landing Villa Beach Resort is delighted to announce Alex Danila’s appointment as the new Director of Spa & Wellness at the beautiful resort on the Eastern Caribbean Island of St Lucia. We hear about the luxury spa menu from boosting immune systems to a focus on nutrition, allowing luxury travellers an increased focus on wellness.

Nestled into 60 acres of lush hillside, Windjammer Landing’s spa provides the perfect tranquil setting to relax and rejuvenate whilst soaking up the picturesque surrounding. By boasting various treatments from the more traditional to modern rituals, guests can experience a refined offering designed to deliver inner balance and outer peace. The spa consists of four private treatment rooms, two couples suites, a private Japanese soaker tub and an outdoor shower. There is also a fresh herb garden and juice bar for guests to visit and enjoy throughout their stay.
Alex Danila, originally from Romania, joins the resort with over ten years of experience in the spa and wellness industry, having worked previously for various luxury hotels and resorts across Romania and Dubai.

Alex Danila, Director of Spa & Wellness, comments: “We are currently working on an exciting new menu that will include a variety of new, innovative therapies and beauty treatments. At the same time, we are focusing on improving our current therapies to enhance guest experience, all of which take inspiration from the local area. I am a firm believer in the body-mind-spirit connection and will be introducing several exciting new wellness trends into our current offering, including sleep therapy programmes and welcoming immune-boosting supplements such as apoptogenic mushrooms, Reishi and Lion’s Mane.”

As well as overhauling the menu and introducing new naturally infused products, Danila will be working alongside expert therapists, some of whom have been at the resort for over 19 years, to which Danila quotes are the “backbone of the spa”. Looking into the future beyond Covid-19 restrictions, Danila wants to focus on post-pandemic wellbeing and offer future guests a sanctuary, to re-connect, restore and grieve if needs be. He plans to do this by providing tailored wellbeing and fitness classes focusing heavily on breathwork, nutrition and postural alignment classes, the composite of the positions of all joints and limbs of the body.

Danila, a former professional basketball player, credits his athletic background for paving his interests in nutrition, state of mind, and understanding what recovery means.

The resort’s 216 guest rooms and villas range from stylish and contemporary waterfront villas to beachfront suites steps from the water’s edge and charming hillside rooms each designed to offer its guests beautiful views across Labrolette Bay and the Caribbean Sea. Windjammer Landing’s spectacular two to four-bedroom villas feature luxury amenities such as private plunge pools or private terraces. Its larger villas offer full kitchens with the services of a dedicated chef available on request.
