The VanDutch 55 Offers Coastal Cruising at Its Finest

By Paul Joseph

Netherlands yacht makers VanDutch have carved out an impressive reputation for themselves since beginning commercial manufacturing in 2009.

Now the Fort Lauderdale-based company, known for their design, functionality and associated lifestyle, have taken their boat building stature to new levels with the launch of the ultra-luxurious flagship VanDutch55.

Billed as a landmark model in VanDutch’s history, the 16.4-metre vessel boasts a distinctive profile that’s reminiscent of the original VanDutch 40, including the unmistakable vertical bow and minimalistic deck lines, but with enhanced volume and interior capacity.

Naval architecture by compatriot yacht designer Frank Mulder has set the VanDutch 55 apart as one of the best performing, most cutting-edge motor boats in its size range. Vacuum-injected composite hull and deck construction are reinforced by strategically positioned Kevlar, while the deck and interior flooring offer a teak like finish.

On the foredeck, vast sunbathing and lounging areas are available, while the cockpit enjoys expanded dining spaces and an electric Bimini.

Below deck, the vessel provides accommodation for up to six guests, making it an ideal boat for longer-range coastal cruising, according to its creators.

As for performance, the VanDutch55 is fitted with twin 99hp Volvo inboard engines, enabling comfortable cruising speeds of up to 37 knots.

Since their foundation in 2008, VanDutch have gained a strong celebrity following, with the likes of Christiano Ronalo, David Beckham, Leonardo DiCaprio, Mark Cuban and Simon Cowell having either owned or been seen cruising in a VanDutch vessel.

VanDutch55 is available through TWW Yachts, with an asking price of $1,195,000. Based in Monaco, TWW Yachts boast some of the yachting industry's most experienced professionals – across sales, charter and build.
