Thomas Cook Launches Boutique Hotel Brand

By Paul Joseph

Travel agents Thomas Cook have taken their first foray into a new business segment with the launch of a boutique hotel brand designed for the “bohemian spirit”.

Starting with Casa Cook Rhodes in Greece, the brand will eventually comprise of a global chain of up-scale but relaxed boltholes for discerning travellers.

Targeting travellers aged 25 to 50, Casa Cook has been created in line with the company’s strategy for profitable growth and differentiation. It will complement Cook’s existing five hotel brands – SENTIDO, SunConnect, Sunwing, Sunprime and smartline.

The brand is designed to be a fusion between the local destination and the lifestyle requirements of its target group which the company describes as “young modern travellers, from urban centres who have an affinity for fashion and design and are searching for a healthy work-life-balance”.

Each property will have individually selected artwork and vintage furniture to create a relaxed atmosphere and a stylish “boho-chic” environment.

Casa Cook employees are ´ambassadors´, inspiring guests to explore by sharing their local knowledge and insight on traditions to offer a truly authentic holiday experience.

Located on the hillsides of Kolymbia on the island of Rhodes, the 90-room boutique Casa Cook Rhodes features decorated rooms with either swim-up pool access or a private pool.
It was designed by German hotel designer Michael Schickinger, creative director of Lambs & Lions, and interior designer Annabell Kutucu.

The health and well-being offering includes yoga, Pilates, massages and a state of the art gym. All Casa Cook hotels will offer bicycles for guests use.

Up to three further Casa Cook hotels are planned by summer 2017.
