Tibaldi for Riva: An iconic Italian union in ink and water

By superyachts.com

In an Italian partnership of design and style, high-end pen makers Tibaldi and luxury shipyard Riva have created a collection of enviable proportions.

The union of these two iconic brands has resulted in a collection of designer pens being released to exactly match the colour scheme of Riva’s yachts.

Each writing instrument is coated in precisely the same paint colour as Riva’s boats, all of which are patented and formulated for extreme durability.

The nautical colours of the exclusive pens reflect the trademark colours Riva dresses its luxury yachts in; Roman bronze with rose gold plating, and Navy blue trimmed with palladium.

The physical design of the fountain pens is shaped to model the original Riva bitts while, in true Tibaldi style, the spring mechanism of the clip lifts it effortlessly from the cap.

The barrel of the pen is handcrafted with inlaid wood reminiscent of the wooden deck on Riva’s boats, and features Tibaldi’s classic proportions modelled from the divine Fibonacci sequence.

To further celebrate their union with Riva, the pen designers have created an exquisite metal case in which to store the unique Tibaldi pen.

Each case is trimmed with the wood and lacquer that matches the writing instrument held inside.

In a limited edition run, the Tibaldi for Riva collection will be restricted to 500 fountain and roller ball pens of each colour, resulting in an overall run of 2,000 pens.

Prices for these superb pens start at US$2,000.
