Ulysee Nardin Launches Venice-Inspired Timepiece

By Paul Joseph

Luxury Swiss watchmaker Ulysee Nardin has created a new, limited-edition timepiece inspired by the iconic Italian city of Venice.

Limited to just 18 pieces, the Carnival of Venice Minute Repeater comes in a choice of platinum or 18-karat rose gold.

The Venetian theme can be seen on the watch’s dial which depicts two animated mask-wearing figures in front of the Rialto Bridge on the city’s Grand Canal. At the minute repeater’s chiming of the hours, quarters, and minutes, the figures lift their masks.

The dial was created using an enamel champlevé technique and then further refined by hand chiseling and ornamented with engravings.

Founded in Le Locle, Switzerland in 1846, Ulysse Nardin has grown to become one of the world’s most famous and highly regarded watch brands.
