Urwerk Launches $135,000 Torpedo Timepiece
Swiss watchmaker Urwerk has released a limited-edition version of its UR-110 Torpedo range of timepieces, dubbed ‘Champagne Supernova’.
Limited to just 12 pieces, the watch is covered in Zirconium Nitride: a champagne-coloured high-performance ceramic machine tool coating.
Functions include Urwerk’s intricate revolving satellite complication with rotating hours and minutes modules mounted on planetary gears. The hours and minutes are coated in bright yellow Superluminova.
At the top of the dial is a day/night indication, whilst an oil change indicator is located in the lower left quadrant of the dial (Urwerk’s unique system that alerts you when the watch needs servicing). The dial also features a small seconds indicator.
The Urwerk UR-110 will be available at just four retail locations around the world (Chronopassion - Paris; The Hour Glass - Singapore; Marcus - London; Westime - Los Angeles), priced at $135,000 (£85,000).
