Valentino Opens its Largest Global Store in New York

World-renowned Italian fashion house Valentino has opened its largest global store on New York’s prestigious Fifth Avenue.

Located on the site of the former Takashimaya department store, the flagship store is spread over 20,000 square feet and three floors, where Valentino’s full range of accessories, and women’s and men’s clothing are showcased.

The store also exclusively houses the Valentino Garavani accessories line including the new Camubutterfly pieces and Zodiac finger clutches, plus a made-to-measure denim programme.

Valentino creative directors Pierpaolo Piccoli and Maria Grazia Chiuri worked with British architect David Chipperfield to redesign the building.

Following the renovation, it features a dramatic facade with the top tiers composed of black steel and aluminium and the lower part connected by vertical brass bars that incorporate a lantern, clock along with the distinctive Valentino logo.

Last year Valentino opened a new boutique on New York’s Madison Avenue, featuring a VIP suite on its top floor.

The Valentino brand first gained prominence in the 1960s with gowns worn by iconic figures including Princess Margaret, Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis and Audrey Hepburn.
