Waldorf Astoria to Open First UAE Hotel

Luxury hotel brand Waldorf Astoria is to open its first ever property in the United Arab Emirates, it has been announced.

Located in Ras Al Khaimah in the Persian Arab Gulf, the new hotel will feature 346 rooms and suites, and offer sweeping views of the surrounding region.

Designed to mirror the classic features of an Arabian palace, the Ras Al Khaimah residence will boast an array of lavish amenities including a first-class 18-hole championship golf course, a 350-metre private beach and two temperature-controlled outdoor pools.

Other notable features will include two Waldorf Astoria's hallmarks – a grand lobby clock and Peacock Alley, a public area designed as a hub for socialising. Inspired by a the legendary Waldorf Astoria hotel in New York, the clock has been designed to honour regional Arab culture and will include the five daily prayer times.

Peacock Alley, meanwhile, located across ground floor and mezzanine levels, is reflective of the grand social promenade that connected the original Waldorf and Astoria hotels in New York as a place to see and be seen.

The hotel will also house four signature restaurants fully-equipped well-being Spa that will be one of the largest in the United Arab Emirates.

The Waldorf Astoria Ras Al Khaimah is the 25th addition to the global Waldorf Astoria portfolio of hotels and resorts.
