Waterproof Sports Drone Can Fly, Float and Swim

By Paul Joseph

The drone market has become saturated in recent times, but every now and then a new model arrives that truly catches the eye.

Step forward the SwellPro SPRY, a waterproof sports drone that can fly in the air, float in the water and autonomously follow its subject while capturing stunning ultra-high-definition 4K footage.

The brainchild of a Shenzhen-based start-up called SwellPro, the purpose-built SPRY drone has been specially designed and engineered for action in the harsh marine environment.

The SPRY drone comes with specially coated motors and corrosion resistant materials to make it land and take-off from the water with ease.

It is engineered to be waterproof and buoyant with a hatch that ventilates the airframe while preventing water entry, and is also equipped with an array of aluminium heatsinks which help to dissipate heat outside the sealed frame.

The drone also boasts the world’s first fully-waterproof remote control, which offers the freedom to fly the drone without worrying about breaking it.

It is capable of recording stunning 4K video at 30 frames per second and a max bitrate of 64mbps, or take crisp 12MP photos.

High-thrust motors and high-power ESCs can help the drone reach a top speed of 70km/h (43.5mph).
