Welcome to the World’s Most Expensive Hotel Room

Recently we brought you news of a stunning 60 foot bronze statue by the acclaimed artist Damien Hirst that has taken residence at a luxury Las Vegas hotel.

It just so happens that at the very same hotel - the Palms Casino Resort - guests can now treat themselves to staying in the world’s most expensive hotel suite, also custom designed by the British contemporary artist.

Priced at a col $100,000 per night (for a minimum of two nights), the new Sky Villa’s ‘Empathy Suite’ boasts an array of lavish features, among them 13-foot-long tiger sharks suspended in formaldehyde.

The two-storey suite is the result of a $690 million collaboration between Hirst’s architectural firm, Bentel & Bentel, and local company Klai Juba Architects.

“The Empathy Suite designed by Damien Hirst is the pinnacle of luxury combining museum-worthy art and truly legendary hospitality experience for the discerning hotel aficionado and casino guest looking for a once-in-a-lifetime Las Vegas stay,” says Jon Gray, Palms general manager.

The suite offers two master bedrooms and an outdoor pool overlooking the Las Vegas Strip, along with numerous lounges that can fit over 50 people, massage rooms, a salt relaxation room, a gym, two bathrooms and a powder room.

After checking-in to the Empathy Suite, guests receive 24-hour butler service, chauffeured car service, a private art tour of the hotel property, and a $10,000 credit to use at the hotel.

Hirst’s artistic touches can be seen throughout the 9,000-square-foot villa, including his famous pharmaceutical art surrounding glass walls and floor and butterflies print surrounding the massage room and outdoor pool.

The suite itself houses a 13-seat curved bar created by Hirst, featuring artwork titled ‘Here for a Good Time, Not a Long Time (2018)’. The two-part hanging sculpture is one of the six works, made specifically for the suite.

The artist has been an influential figure in the transformation of the Palms Casino Resort, which recently opened its expansive new club Kaos spanning 100,000 square foot.

An English artist, entrepreneur, and art collector, Damien Hirst is one of the Young British Artists who dominated the art scene in the UK during the 1990s.
