Whatley Manor Announces Season of Festivities

By Paul Joseph

Whatley Manor, a charming country manor house and spa in the heart of the Cotswolds, has undergone a Christmas makeover for the festive season.

From late November until New Year’s Day, the hotel’s dining and drinks offering is being  complemented by a host of decorative embellishments along with a calendar of fun-packed festive events and specially designed guest packages.

Last week the hotel played host to a Christmas gift-wrapping masterclass with Jane Means, who has collaborated with luxury brands such as Jo Malone, Dior and Acqua di Parma, followed by a two-course lunch in Grey’s Brasserie.

Continuing the festive tutorials in December, the hotel will also host three Christmas wreath-making classes, led by local florist Emily Hepworth of Persephone Violet in Malmesbury, also concluding with lunch in Grey’s Brasserie.

A Christmas Carol Concert, performed by the Noctis Chamber Choir, will also be held in the Drawing Room in mid-December, kicking off with a Champagne reception, and finishing with a four-course dinner in the brasserie.

For New Year’s Eve, the hotel has also curated several festive packages, including the three-night House Party package break, featuring afternoon tea and drinks on arrival, gin tasting in The Green Room, and a five-course Gala Dinner in 2-michelin starred The Dining Room followed by a live jazz band and fireworks at midnight in the garden.

Guests will then get to welcome in 2020 with a champagne breakfast, followed by a woodland walk in Westonbirt Arboretum, a visit to the cinema with champagne and popcorn, and a three-course dinner in Grey’s Brasserie with live jazz entertainment.
