Whiskey Worship: Glengoyne 40 Year Old Single Malt

By superyachts.com

A rare and refined treat for Father’s Day, the Glengoyne 40 Year Old Single Malt is designed to satisfy from start to finish.

The 40 Year Old is the distillery’s oldest and most valuable Highland Single Malt to date, and carries a price tag of US$5,000 a bottle.

Produced in the prestigious Glengoyne Distillery in the Scottish Highlands, the exceptional whiskey is encased in a hand-blown Glencairn Crystal decanter and decorated with an engraved sheaf of wheat on the stopper.

The decanter itself is presented in a lacquered, piano-finished solid oak wood box embellished with gold plates on the front and featuring a hand-stitched cream leather interior.
Each bottle is engraved with an individual number on the base, numbering the limited edition run from one to 250.

In celebration of this premier launch, each bottle is accompanied by a traditionally bound book in cream leather and gold foil signed by Distillery Manager Robbie Hughes.

The book contains details on tasting notes and a detailed history of the distillery.

The whiskey is described as being complex and exceptionally subtle with each of the flavours freely expressing themselves.
