EMERALD is a beautifully restored 26-metre classic gentleman’s motor yacht with genuine pedigree, distinctive character and proven long-range cruising capability. Built by James A. Silver in Scotland to a design by renowned naval architect John Bain, she represents an increasingly rare opportunity to acquire a traditional wooden yacht that has been carefully preserved while benefiting from substantial modernisation.

Her graceful profile, white hull and varnished timber detailing immediately reflect the elegance of a true classic motor yacht. Built entirely in wood with double-planked teak construction, EMERALD combines traditional craftsmanship with a practical cruising layout that includes generous exterior spaces, a Portuguese bridge, a spacious cockpit and an unusually large flybridge for a yacht of her era.

A comprehensive refit restored the yacht to a high standard while respecting her original identity. Structural timber work, bridge restoration, electrical rewiring, air-conditioning renewal, machinery work and the installation of a gyroscopic stabiliser were all undertaken, while the original Gardner engines were retained and carefully overhauled.

EMERALD accommodates up to eight guests in four ensuite staterooms, including an aft Master cabin, two double guest cabins and one twin cabin. The interior is warm and inviting, with light ash, teak flooring, mahogany detailing and cream upholstery creating a timeless atmosphere. The bright main saloon benefits from extensive glazing, while the traditional wheelhouse provides a particularly charming and authentic focal point.

For cruising, twin Gardner 6LXB diesel engines provide reliable auxiliary power, while a Side-Power bow thruster assists manoeuvring. A gyroscopic stabiliser improves comfort both underway and at anchor, and the yacht’s reported range of approximately 1,500 nautical miles supports extended coastal and offshore itineraries.

With her classic Scottish build, John Bain design, restored wooden construction, flexible guest accommodation and modernised onboard systems, EMERALD offers a compelling opportunity for an owner seeking a yacht with genuine heritage, individuality and enduring style.
