STERN's groundbreaking concept focuses on enhancing the connection between the owner, guests, and the water. She received top honours at the 2019 World Superyacht Awards for its revolutionary diesel-electric technology and state-of-the-art hybrid azipod system. This cutting-edge design allows for remarkably silent operations and even offers a zero emissions mode.
Designed as a tri-deck displacement motor yacht STERN was awarded the winner at the 2019 World Superyacht Awards, recognized for the innovative diesel electric technology with modern hybrid azipod system, enabling extremely quiet operations with a zero emissions mode. The yacht can operate in a zero emissions mode (ZEM) with a battery bank of 91 cells allowing for silent cruising at five knots. Stern is built to RINA Green Plus Platinum Class.
Powered by four marine diesel generators, coupled to alternators and to electric motors linked to a power management system in conjunction with the latest battery technology, the power runs the hotel load and propulsion to two azipod drives offering diesel and electric drive.
The modern propulsion solution allows for a industry shift in the engine room space and layout configuration and positioning which has enabled the designers to optimise the hull space to greater scope and use for guest comfort and use of space.
Accommodation
Accommodation onboard STERN is for ten guests in five exquisite and luxurious suites.
