Capella Marigot Bay Discuss Being the Jewel in St Lucia’s Crown

For yachting visitors to the Caribbean, Capella Marigot Bay on the island of St Lucia is hard to beat.

Boasting a fully equipped marina, an array of dining options and a world class spa, the resort has gained a worldwide reputation for its lavish location, top qualities amenities and excellent service.

We sat down with the resort’s director of sales and marketing Michele McConalogue and marina manager Guillaume Chaillot on the first day of the Monaco yacht Show to find out more.

“The resort itself is 124 units, it has one, two and three bedroom suites, and three magnificent restaurants,” Ms McConalogue said. “You can dine at the main restaurant which is our signature grill.

"We have a rum cave which has proved a huge hit with yacht owners and captains. The Caribbean is so well known for rums and we have around 200 rums available in the cave and we offer rum caves as well for the novice. The third restaurant and bar is a swim up pool bar and it serves sushi and ceviche.

“And then of course we have the wonderful Auriga spa which is part of the Capella brand. It offers both moon face treatments and indigenous treatments, so we’ve worked very closely with the locals in St Lucia to learn a little bit about the type of relaxation treatments that they would offer and it’s proven a huge hit with our guests.”

Asked to offer a flavour of what visitors to St Lucia can expect from the island itself, she was equally effusive.

“St Lucia is unlike any other Caribbean island,” she said. “It’s one of those where your pulse is going to race as soon and you arrive. It’s not your typical sandy beach island, and there’s so many activities and opportunities for getting out and exploring.”
