Italian fashion house Gucci has opened its first ever high-end jewellery boutique in the prestigious environs of the Palace Venedrome in Paris.

Spread across a large space in the heart of one of Paris’s most upscale shopping spot, the store features a range of jewellery designed by Alessandro Michele, creative director of Kering group’s leading label.

Called Hortus Deliciarum, the collection comprises over 200 Italian-crafted pieces embedded with coloured gems personally sourced by Michele.

The stones have honey-coloured imperial topazes, pink topazes, green tourmalines, mandarin garnets, white diamonds, pink and blue sapphires, iridescent opals and yellow beryls.

The theme of the collection has been inspired by three topics: eternal love, the animal kingdom and solitaires.

Jewels in the store are displayed in deep wood cabinets upholstered in faded green satin, resonating the brilliance of the gemstones.

“For this project, Alessandro Michele has delved into the depths of his eclectic imagination, picking out designs that are dear to him and are now part of the canon of Gucci's iconography,” said the label in a press release.

Founded by Guccio Gucci in Florence, Italy in 1921, Gucci has grown to become one of the world’s most famous fashion houses.
