Latest Lifestyle News: A Birthday Tribute to a Formula 1 Legend

He may have been out of sight for several years, but Michael Schumacher has certainly not been out of mind for his millions of fans around the world, all of whom have been praying for positive news about the Formula 1 legend since his debilitating skiing accident in 2013.

To reinforce the esteem with which he is still held, the Ferrari Museum in Maranello, Italy has used the occasion of the German racing icon’s 50th birthday to host a special exhibition dedicated to the star.

The museum has put together an exhibition telling the story of Schumacher's extraordinary record-breaking F1 career, which has seen him win an as yet unequalled seven world titles, 91 victories, and 155 podiums. You can read more about it in today’s newsletter.

Elsewhere this week, we’ve kicked off the New Year with reports on a brand new Harry Winston timepiece that honours the Chinese Year of the Pig, along with the addition of a performance-focused “T” variant to Porsche’s 718 line-up.

There are also features on a beautiful collection of limited edition photographic portraits of Formula 1 heroes – including Schumacher – by luxury book producers Kraken Opus, and a Micky Mouse-inspired handbag collection that is the result of a collaboration between Disney and fashion house Gucci.

Other stories we cover this week include the creation of a diamond encrusted Knife that can be yours for a cool $150,000, the opening of a stunning immersive art resort in the Maldives, and a $2.7 million tabletop atomic clock by Urwerk.

That’s all for this week. A Happy New Year to all of our readers and we look forward to bringing you more news from the world of luxury and lifestyle over the coming 12 months, and beyond!
