Latest Lifestyle News: Spotlight Lingers on Los Angeles

Earlier this year saw German luxury car marquee Porsche celebrate the 70th birthday of its iconic 911 model. But as the legendary car reached this milestone moment, there’s been plenty of evidence of life in the old dog yet.

Several new or special edition 911 models have been unveiled during the interim period and now the Los Angeles Auto Show has seen two more additions to the famous car line.

Introduced as Carrera S and Carrera 4S, the new 911 models appear not much different to the outgoing version in appearance, but those with a keen eye may notice several augmented details. You can read more about them both in today’s newsletter.

Elsewhere this week, there’s also a profile of a new smartphone app service that’s being billed as Tinder for watches, as well as a look at another eye-catching car launch from Los Angeles, the Audi e-Tron concept.

There’s also a look at two new Cartier watches that have been showcased ahead of the 2019 SIHH watch fair in Geneva next month, and a 140+ private collection that is due to feature at RM Sotheby’s most prestigious global auctions in the New Year.

Back in the watch world, Montblanc have unveiled an updated timepiece for its popular Star Legacy Collection, while Swiss horology brand Bovet have teamed up with car design agency Pininfarina to create a new OttantaSei tourbillon.

Finally for this week, we report on the recent world record-breaking sale of a bottle of Macallan 1926 Whisky which fetched an eye-popping $1.5 million at auction.

That’s all for now. Until next time, enjoy our newsletter and have a wonderful week.
