Latest Lifestyle News: The Return of the Supersonic

When Concorde went bust in 2003, it was assumed that the days of 1,300mph cruising speeds and 3.5-hour flight times between New York and London had been buried for the foreseeable future.

But now the unforeseeable is back on the horizon as a new crop of aviation start-ups strive to resurrect those halcyon days.

However, it’s not just the new boys who are hard at work. NASA, the official US space agency, has created a supersonic jet concept that can travel at more than Mach 1 speeds and, if it ever made it to production, would slash the New York to London travel time to less than 3 hours. You can read all about it in today’s newsletter.

Elsewhere this week, we profile the all-new Mazda 3 that is set to debut at the upcoming Los Angeles Car Show, as well as a new luxury electric bike by Italian motorbike makers Ducati.

There are also reports on the opening of the world’s largest underwater restaurant in Norway, the unveiling of a new capsule fashion collection by Hugo Boss and Porsche, and a stunning one-off diamond ring created by acclaimed Apple designer Jony Ive.

Finally for this week, we take a look at a lavish tea-trunk designed as part of a collaboration between Louis Vuitton & Fortnum and Mason, and the launch of what is surely the world’s most expensive bra.

That’s all for this week. Until next time, enjoy our newsletter and have a wonderful week.
