Iconic French fashion house Louis Vuitton recently unveiled an innovative new assortment of handbags fitted with innovative technology straight out of the future.

The brainchild of Nicolas Ghesquière, Louis Vuitton’s maverick creative director, the display was showcased at the Louis Vuitton Cruise 2020 show at the refurbished TWA dock of the John. F. Kennedy airport.

Playing on the theme of Space Age, the display was called the ‘Canvas of the future’ comprising of bags that came with functioning canvas video screens on each of their sides.

The moldable, flexible screens are made of AMOLED technology—the same LED functionality that is incorporated in new-age smartphones, allowing for a clear 1920 x 1440 resolution.

In a press release, Louis Vuitton said the goal of the handbags is to eventually bridge the gap between your smartphone and your fashion accessories.

Back in 2007, Marc Jacobs, Louis Vuitton’s then creative director also appeared on the runway with a mini LED screen embedded trunk

Founded in France in 1854, Louis Vuitton has grown to become one of the world’s most renowned luxury fashion brands.
