Luxury drinks makers Moët Hennessy is marking its 250th anniversary with the release of a rare limited edition collector’s cognac blend.

To create the commemorative Hennessy 250 Collector Blend, the brand’s master blenders used eaux-de-vie ranging in age from 15-35 years and aged it for five years in specially crafted barrels, stored at ground level near the banks of the river Charente in Cognac, France.

The result is a cognac billed as “rich and expressive on the nose”, with aromatic tones that range from bitter orange and freshly grated nutmeg, to liquorice, dried peppermint leaf, and saffron, says Hennessy.

Each 1-liter bottle of Hennessy 250 Collector Blend comes in a gift box with a copper metallic surface, and is priced at $600.

As part of its anniversary celebrations, Moët Hennessy is embarking on a global tour including trips to China, Russia, America and South Africa.

Moët Hennessy is a part of French luxury goods group LVMH.
