Notes From The Editor

Week Commencing 17 November 2014

Last week visited 1a St James’s, a luxurious cigar emporium in the heart of historic London, where we were treated to a guided tour by the store’s manager Robert Emery, a renowned cigar and tobacco expert.

During our tour, Mr Emery imparted his vast knowledge on the world of fine cigars, whose provenance spans to such exotic climes as Nicaragua and Uganda, where the fertile soil gives rise to the world’s best tobacco. You can read our full feature on 1a St James’s in today’s newsletter.

Elsewhere this week, we report on Rolls-Royce’s first ever public exhibition which took place at London’s prestigious Saatchi Gallery, a stunning Beverly Hills home on the market for £195 million, and a beautiful new timepiece by Romain Jerome that honours the fall of the Berlin Wall.

There’s also features on a Bordeaux hotel offering a unique wine journey for its guests, a high profile auction which saw the sale of a host of iconic rock & roll memorabilia pieces, and American musician and producer Jay Z purchasing the prestigious “Ace of Spades” champagne brand.

If that’s not enough, there’s another exciting watch launch, this time from Swiss brand Vacheron Constantin whose new creation celebrates the Chinese Year of the Goat.

Enjoy our newsletter and have a great week.
