Notes From The Editor

Week Commencing 22 December 2014

First there is Christmas and the New Year to enjoy but no sooner will they be over than the next round of annual luxury events will descend inexorably upon us.

One of the first to arrive in January is the North American International Auto Show in Detroit 2014, and among the array of stunning cars set for display at the high profile show will be the entire new 6 Series range by BMW.

The German brand are takin the unusual step of unveiling the full range in one foul swoop, and the announcement has added anticipation to what is already a key event on the automobile industry calendar each year. You can read more about BMW’s new 6 Series range in today’s newsletter.

Elsewhere this week, there’s a feature on a quirky pair of Oliver Sweeney Brogues fitted with a compartment in the heel to encase miniature Jack Daniels bottles, the launch of the new Ferrari “Sergio” tribute car in honour of renowned designer Sergio Pininfarina, and a recent Sotheby’s jewellery auction that yielded an impressive $44.2 million.

There’s also news of a beautiful new timepiece by Swiss brand Hublot, a preview of RM Auction’s forthcoming Arizona Sale of classic cars, and a review of the London outpost or world renowned chef Joel Rubechon.

If that’s not enough, there’s also a report on Swiss watchmakers Ulysse Nardin who have opened their second mono-brand boutique in the Russian capital of Moscow.

Have a wonderful – and luxurious - Christmas.
