Notes From The Editor

Week Commencing 23 December 2013

As we reach the end of 2013, it is an appropriate time for luxury brands to take stock and consider what has been achieved over the previous 12 months.

For us at, perhaps the stand-out memory of the year was our 8-day trip to The Bahamas, which heralded the start of our blossoming and ongoing relationship with Yachts International magazine and resulting in our inaugural interactive destination guide.

It was a sensational trip, involving helicopter rides over stunning turquoise waters, stays on beautiful private islands and meetings with important figures including the Bahamas Minister of Tourism.

Back at base camp in London we have been as busy as ever reporting on the world of luxury, which has been a particularly vibrant sector this year. One of the big success stories – the Canadian classic car auction house RM Auctions – headlines today’s newsletter with their announcement of record breaking profits.

Elsewhere this week, we report on the unveiling of the Platypus underwater exploration vehicle, news that the iconic Bugatti Veyron supercar is down to its final 50 units, and lavish new timepieces from watchmakers Chopard, Jacquet Droz and TechnoMarine.

There’s also a feature on an innovative new Heads-Up ski display, and a report on HG Christie, real estate experts in the Bahamas, who recently received five prestigious awards at an awards ceremony in London.

Enjoy our newsletter and have a wonderful Christmas.
