Notes From The Editor

Week Commencing 26 March 2012

It is always exciting to see the result of collaborations between brands, and this week we feature the fruits of a partnership between two iconic names from the world of luxury: Bulgari and Maserati.

The Octo Maserati timepiece was unveiled at the recent 2012 BaselWorld fair in Switzerland, and includes several nods to the Maserati car brand, including a dial resembling Maserati’s grille vents and the Maserati Trident symbol resting on the transparent caseback. Alongside our feature there’s also an exclusive video of the watch for you to enjoy.

Elsewhere this week, we report on one of London’s most unique stores. Despite being renowned across the world for its shopping opportunities, one area in which London arguably lags behind its distinguished Parisian neighbours is in the presence of “Maisons”.

One British brand has attempted to redress that balance with its own variation of the famous multi-purpose Maison stores, which typically comprise a shop, a showroom and an office over several floors.

Alfred Dunhill is the brand that has stepped up to the plate and have arguably taken the Maison concept to the next level with Bourdon House - a stunningly-designed property located off of the ultra-prestigious Berkeley Square in Mayfair, Central London. We profile the unique space in today’s newsletter.

There’s also news of Spanish football giants’ Real Madrid’s plans to build a stunning new luxury resort in the Middle East, another new timepiece from expert watch-makers Hublot, a report on Audi’s plans to buy motorcycle brand Ducati, and much more.

Enjoy our newsletter and have a great week.
