Notes From The Editor

Week Commencing 30 November 2015

It is perhaps surprising that it has taken this long for a company to conjure a way for a superyacht to house a supercar – but that is the achievement of British sports car maker Briggs Automative.

The result is the Marine Mono, a single-seat supercar that boasts a rust-resistant finish and electronics that are protected from the corrosion inflicted by moisture and salty air. Furthermore, the car’s roll hoop accepts a strap, enabling it to be loaded and unloaded easily. You can read more about this innovative car in today’s newsletter.

Elsewhere this week, there’s reports on a London auction set to feature the largest ever display of Cartier diamonds, and the Miami Supercar Rooms due to open during this week’s Art Basel fair in Miami.

Meanwhile luxury resort operators Six Senses have opened their first ever European Residences located in the Courchevel ski resort in the French Alps, while there’s additional hospitality news from St Regis who are set to open a new property in Dubai and luxury brand conglomerate LVMH who are also due to open an new boutique ski hotel in France.

If that’s not enough, luxury car brand Maserati have opened their second showroom in India, while Swiss watchmakers Audemars Piguet have unveiled a new addition to their iconic Royal Oak range.
