The recent decision from UNESCO not to list the Great Barrier Reef as ‘in danger’ has been a boost to Australia and the country’s tourism heartland of Queensland. Though avoiding the downgrade is an encouraging sign, there is no doubting that a significant and concerted effort is required to secure the prosperity of this Natural Wonder of the World.
