Alternatively enjoy the rich and diverse collections at the Brighton Museum and Art Gallery or visit one of the city's 10 theatres or countless live music venues. In May the city hosts the Brighton Festival - the largest arts festival in England.

Marvel at the exotic beauty of the Royal Pavilion - King George IV's magnificent seaside residence - a Chinese interior with gilded dragons and carved palm trees and an Indian exterior. Or experience the best of good old-fashioned seaside fun at Brighton Pier with a mix of side stalls, arcades, funfair,mini dodgems and a mini roller-coaster. Ride on the Volks railway - the first public electric railway in the world, which runs for a mile and a quarter along the beach. It stops at Black Rock station, (five minutes walk from the western end of the marina), Brighton Sea Life Centre, and Peter Pan's play ground.
