Overview
Derecktor Shipyards was founded in 1947 in New York and began life as a builder of wooden sailboats. The yard quickly grew, and became a pioneer in aluminum construction, over time building such notable vessels as America’s Cup winner Stars & Stripes ‘87 and the 86-meter Cakewalk, the largest yacht ever built in the United States. Derecktor also expanded southward, helping make Florida the global yachting center it is today.
