Barracuda/Scanu 150'

The new Barracuda/Scanu 150’ is under construction at Alu International Shipyard and YBM in Gdansk/Poland. The appearance the new 45m more closely resembles a sailing yacht than a motor sailor, even though primary propulsion will be provided via twin Caterpillar 725hp engines for a cruising speed of 14knots.

A fully carbon-fibre cutter-style rig, with hydraulic controls and captive winches and sail area of 880sq.m will ensure the new 45m is an exciting yacht to sail. At the foredeck, a 19ft dinghy can be launched via crane, whereupon this space doubles as a plunge pool.

A large hydraulic transom door opens to become a swimming platform, whilst under deck garage will house an additional dinghy, jet-skis, and other related equipment. A pneumatically operated dagger-board offers the flexibility of deep and shallow draught cruising. Extending from 3.4m draught down to 6.85m when fully extended.
