Orcageno

The design of different superyachts providing new concepts and styles is always a challenge for designers. Also, the awareness of the importance of clean environment in recent years has introduced many clean sources of power, for example, hydrogen fuel. Combining both the form and powering source the ORCAGENO superyacht was born as a new style engineering design.

The yacht is based around an advanced slender hull form with an axe bow, offering lower resistance due to low angle of entrance, superior sea-keeping, minimised wave slamming, decreased level of peak vertical accelerations over conventional hull forms, and leading to long distance, range up to 13000 nautical miles. The hull design is to have a minimal surface and hull wake, thus reducing its impact on sensitive marine life as well as shoreline erosion.

The hull is propelled by hydrogen diesel-electric system used for the first time in the marine field offering totally new concept for how beneficial hydrogen fuel can be for superyachts.
The superiority of hydrogen fuel is that it contains three times the energy to be found in diesel fuel as well as it has no carbon monoxide or dioxide in the exhaust (zero carbon foot print).
High safety standards are applied for hydrogen tanks to provide reliable operation conditions during loading and consumption of hydrogen fuel. The tanks are well isolated and fabricated from stress resistant material connected to each other by means of pipes and valves with sensors to indicate any leakage of hydrogen gas with reliable shut down emergency system to ensure safety all the time.

The propulsion system uses a generator driven by hydrogen-diesel internal combustion engine which can be operated by either hydrogen or diesel oil to provide power for the Azipod units, preferable due to low noise, low vibration, excellent harbor maneuvering and passenger comfort. As a result, wide ranges can be obtained for hydrogen and diesel operation modes, at speed of 10 knot, operating on hydrogen mode, it can reach more than 3500 nautical miles and at speed of 18 knot it can reach more than 1800 nautical miles. The forward slender spaces in the yacht are used efficiently for the storage of hydrogen tanks and tender boats.

The interior design of ORCAGENO is directly related to the elegant and slim form of the hull.
The design is based on linearity, functionality and detailed planning according to Architects’ data (Ernst and Peter Neufert).

The bridge is positioned at the highest level of ORCAGENO to provide wider vision for the captain, also the captain's cabin is positioned next to the bridge giving the captain his own work and leisure area. The sundeck is distinguished with extraordinary exterior design for spa and health centre inspired by the shape of a bike helmet in order to give the aggressive look which suits the ORCAGENO style.

The spa and health centre are well distributed across the helmet areas with natural lighting given by the beautifully curved glass during the day. Inspired from the view of the sun rise, the sun deck Jacuzzi is designed, surrounded by leather covered sunbathing area adding a magical touch to the exterior design.
The owner's cabin is of stylish and modern design where all the luxury and comfort can be found, with a direct access to an open air lounging area.

The dining room area is positioned in the forward part of ORCAGENO with a fabulous view of the swimming pool. It has two side openings designed to give exceptional viewing experience to enjoy the sea while dining or just relaxing in the lounge. Stepping out of the dining room and entering the two levels swimming pool area bounded with a hydraulically operated glass sunroof, the guests can feel the harmony that the two levels convey.
The upper level has a glass window that can be partly/fully opened to give views of the sea and the stylish swimming pool at the same time. The lower level where the swimming pool is situated provides the guests with a leisure space in an area normally reserved mainly for anchoring and mooring equipment.

At night the guests can enjoy the swimming pool with the romantic spotlights provided around the glass sunroof. The side hull glass curves flow with the superstructure shape to generate unity and integrity of the yacht's lines.
