Orion is the result of a perfect synergy between luxury and adventure. The project accurately reflects the shifting demographic of the modern yacht owner and the increasing desire to venture further and further afield, all while travelling in the height of luxury.

“Orion is the result of extensive and lengthy market research and analysis carried out together with Lynx Yachts’ management and President,” comments Filippo Rossi, Sales & Marketing Manager at Lynx Yachts. “This project reflects twenty-plus years of my experience within the world of yachting, witnessing the demands and needs of customers.”

The shipyard has spent careful attention to life at sea, investigating the experiences, scenarios and indeed emotions of a guest onboard a superyacht to better understand and conceptualise the ideal project.

And the result of this thorough market research? A thrillingly simple innovation; a tiered ‘theatre’ towards the stern of the yacht, truly unique in design, which will serve to enhance the connectivity to the sea all while enhancing the spaciousness felt to like that of a much larger yacht.

This design feature preserves Orion’s navigable capabilities of expedition and seafaring, serving as storage space for her 6m tender or a ‘playful area for convivial functions when the tender has been deployed’. Access to the sea is assured by a large transformer, while the davit to manoeuvre the tender has been perfectly integrated into the sharp design of the superstructure.

Named after the constellation of Orion, Lynx Yachts’ latest project has been conceptualised at its very core to serve as a true icon of adventure and exploration - much like her innovative new ‘theatre’ feature, which the yard feels confident will serve as an industry benchmark in years to come.

“The constellation takes the form of two trapeziums, which are joined along one side to create an evocative play of shapes,” affirms designer Michele Dragoni. This design inspiration is evident in Orion’s anything-but-ordinary exterior profile, which is sure to draw eyes at any harbour.

Inside, Dragoni and Lynx Yachts have worked to create calming and intimate spaces for ultimate enjoyment at sea. Full-height glass doors and windows line her main saloon, while the theme of connectivity has been extended to the internal and external areas of the main deck, which are linked. Elsewhere, in keeping with the latest trends, her living and socialising spaces are flooded with light - assured by large sliding windows and a large skylight in Orion’s upper deck dining area (which can be set up for indoor or al fresco dining).

Orion houses accommodation for four guests in two twin suites, one VIP and one full beam master suite. Her crew quarters are totally separated to those of her guests - an uncharacteristic luxury on a superyacht of this size.
