Editor’s Note: Sales and Charter Activity Builds

Looking out across London it seems the April showers have already begun. Yet with summer in touching distance, elsewhere the Med is slowly heating up ready for season of activity. While we’re not there just yet, this week’s charter and brokerage news indicates that now is the perfect time to start planning a long hot summer of cruising…

With your next yacht charter in mind, this week our Feature Writer, Anna Solomon focused on the superyachts most suited to a family charter; Easter being the best excuse to spend some quality time with your loved ones on the vessels mentioned in Parts 1 and Part 2 of our lowdown.

We also consider the stunning 45m Aslec 4 in our Charter Focus this week, listed with AM Charter this is a yacht you should seriously consider if you’re heading for the Western Med.

But it’s not just the charter market that are feeling the heat. This week’s news has brought with it plenty of announcements from the brokerage side of the market; with new listings and sales galore.

Of note, earlier in the week Burgess announced the successful sale of stunning superyacht, Cloud 9. A highly admired vessel, we wish the new owner’s all the best on board. Speaking of icons, today 85m Lurssen vessel, Valerie was introduced to the sales market. A gigantic, pedigree vessel, we look forward to seeing her change hands under the watchful eye of central agents at IYC.

In other news, West Nautical announced Seabeach as their latest listing and various updates flooded in following a successful Palm Beach Yacht Show with Rossinavi’s presentation of Project Infinity which caught the eye of a seemingly very active industry this week.

So with all eyes on the coming season here in Europe, and Palm Beach Yacht Show marking the end of the season across the pond, we wish owners and charterers much success planning their next break; or even their next superyacht purchase in this active time.
