Editor's Note: The American Market Comes Alive

Following the success of the Fort Lauderdale Boat Show this week, we are back in our London office wrapping up our exclusive interviews, privileged insights, and American focus features for you to enjoy.

To begin, Stefano De Vivo CCO of the Ferretti Group joined us for an exclusive interview and shared the stateside appeal of the Italian shipyard. “Things are shaping up nicely…” Stefano shared. Their Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show fleet was 18 yachts strong and featured two debuts. The secret? “We don’t sell luxury we sell joy. That’s the most important thing.”  shared Mr. De Vivo, distinguishing the builders across the European sector.

Evan Marshall also took to the hot-seat and shared his latest team up with Ocean Alexander once again for the creation of the Ocean Alexander 90R; the first model of the newly announced Revolution Series. Debuted at the show this week, we were lucky enough to step on board and interview the man behind the head-turning design. "This is a boat that's ideal for families to go cruising" shares the Designer. With open views, numerous living spaces and a chic-interior, it's easy to see why.

A focus once more on the American market this week, we feature an American Fleet in Focus on Bella Una, the masterpiece built by Burger Boats. The 39-metre currently for sale with IYC proves just why yachting is an all-American tradition with a timeless seefairing legacy that is undeniable.

While build and brokerage dominated conversation, cruising grounds naturally followed suit. We discovered why chartering the wild waters of the 50th state is sure to provide a charter of a lifetime. Hawaii, having always been an escape for superyacht owners seeking sun, sand and the soothing sound of gentle waves, is the paradise destination post-FLIBS, that one could desire.

Charter destinations from the sunshine state of Florida didn't end there. Approaching the festive season, we couldn't help but cover a chic 48-hours in New York. Think snow-lined streets of Fifth Avenue, the warm glow from the windows of Saks and the extravagant festive window displays. Throw in a doting selection of private shopping experiences, and your charter bolt-on is good to go.

Fancy a voyage to Seattle instead? Boasting 1,250 in water slips, 10 miles of dock, and a country club atmosphere with panoramic views of the stunning Seattle skyline; Elliot Bay Marina is the perfect stop off on your next yachting adventure.

However, there is no use a destination hot-list without the boat to match. Honouring America's largest yacht the 85.6-metre Aquila, we took a look into her charter charms for an owner's next ocean pilgrimage. With a palette of icy silvers, polished woods and crisp whites, not to mention her 11.2-metre waterfall chandelier, there's nothing this Derecktor fleet member available to charter with Burgess, doesn't have.

To conclude, we pay homage to another American build; Trinity Yachts, with an Interior Insight into the stunning M/Y Skyfall, available for both sale and charter with IYC. Having filmed her across the Adriatic waters of Montenegro, we can officially state this bond-style vessel is every bit as stylish, sophisticated and luxurious in person.
