Editor’s Note: The Ever-Changing Charter Market

As we head well into 2018 and face the excitement of new launches into the Top 100 and the influx of sales in the inbox, it’s important to remember that in the islands of the Caribbean, charter-season is very much in full swing. Escapism is possible and a tropical, over-water retreat is never too far away.

Sandy islets, luscious scenery and the tropical sound of steel drums; looking back to December and the Antigua Charter Show brings fond memories while here in sub-temperature London.

For this reason, we’ve decided to brighten up January with a special edition of our weekly newsletter; The Caribbean Charter Special, where we’ve handpicked some of the finest superyachts available to charter in the region this winter.

Rose Lishman hopped on board a handful of charter-giants at the Antigua Show in December, along with the Superyachts.com’s media team, and spoke with a number of Captains and Crew to find out how each and every charter yacht is unique.

Boasting their own personalities and individual lifestyle, it’s integral to stay on top of the activity in the charter market and hopefully, the videos in this week’s newsletter will help you to break from the grey and get the wanderlust working.

Elsewhere, we’re beginning to hear rumors of yacht-appearances at the Florida shows. It’s hard to believe the team will soon be on the banks of Palm Beach and FLIBS, but be sure to stay tuned as we begin the countdown and start to develop our lists of this year’s must-see showcases.

With our team focussing on the Caribbean this week, I'm trading Palm Trees for the snow as I hunker-down on one very exciting new project in the heart of Budapest. Watch this space.
