85m BOLD Set to Stun at 2022 Palm Beach International Boat Show

By Heather Collier

The 85m BOLD more than lives up to her name. Crafted and delivered by SILVER Yachts in 2019, with an exterior designed by Espen Oeino, she is his 50th vessel to date. With an elegant, modern interior with vast, open space penned by Sabrina Monte Carlo, BOLD remains the very definition of excellence.

Currently available for charter with Hill Robinson, she is set to be making a highly-anticipated appearance at the 2022 Palm Beach International Boat Show this week.

In terms of her performance and capabilities, BOLD remains one of the fastest explorers in the world, described by her yard as “a fast world explorer vessel with a genuine, fully-fledged superyacht finish”. The all-aluminium cruiser’s naval-inspired look was designed by Oeino, long-time design partner behind the four vessels in the 70m Silver Series. For over 25 years, Espen Oeino International has been hard at work designing custom motor yachts for an international clientele from Japan in the East, to Seattle in the West.

BOLD’s interior boasts a seamless blend of luxury and practicality, offering a sleek range of oak and teak, accompanied by metallic painted features and oak and marble flooring, all centred around an extravagant sky lounge. Accommodating 12 guests in 8 luxury cabins, including an owner’s suite, 3 VIP cabins and 4 double guest cabins, while a further 13 cabins can allow a crew of over 20 onboard the Lower Deck, she is plentiful in room.

On her top deck, BOLD features additional, expansive party spaces, including a secluded jacuzzi and 2,700-litre, glistening spa pool alongside a cosy firepit and equipment to set up and indulge in your own private cinema. For owners who find joy in entertaining, look no further than the main banqueting space – complete with a bar, serving stations, two rotisseries and an induction hob, all to satisfy any guest's culinary needs.

The aft section of the Bridge Deck also features removable railings that allow space for a second helicopter, but perhaps what is most impressive, is the winter garden located on the Owner's Deck. When unveiled, this tranquil space acts as a large terrace, open to the sea breeze and breath-taking panoramic views of the water.

BOLD’s Captain, Paul Verry, spoke to Superyachts.com on what makes her the perfect superyacht for any owner’s desire, in any destination.

What makes BOLD a truly unique vessel?

[Captain] She holds the title of the longest all aluminium vessel in the world which has helped make her one of the fastest and fuel-efficient yachts ever made - with a range of 5,500nm and a top speed of 23 knots. BOLD with her unique design is immediately distinguishable and is the Range Rover Sport pickup truck of the yachting world.

If you could describe her in 3 words, what would they be?

[Captain] Daring, nimble, dynamic.

What are some of her stand-out features in terms of interior and exterior?

[Captain] The 300 sqm interior loft is designed to feel like a New York loft apartment and uniquely brings everyone together in a modern, open plan space with full height windows. Perhaps most dramatic is the contrast between the interior spaces and utilitarian exterior spaces – especially when viewed from the wintergarden. Bolds aft deck opens up to a 400sqm multi-purpose open space capable of storing large tenders, sailboats, cars or submarines – a feature very few yachts can match. With a full wall LED screen and impressive sound system in the heli hanger, this space can be used for a movie, disco or an indoor/outdoor gym.

As one of the fastest explorer yachts in the world, why is this considered such a benefit when chartering?

[Captain] This expands the available options for destinations to wake up to each morning, or, if you choose, multiple destinations within one day. Ultimate the speed gives you greater freedom of choice.

In your view, which destination has been your favourite to venture to, and how do you feel it captures BOLD’s beauty?

[Captain] BOLD feels and looks equally at home in a tropical paradise or exploring less frequented destinations for those feeling adventurous.

We hear that she’s attending the 2022 Palm Beach International Boat Show. Can you enlighten readers and attendees on what they might expect?

[Captain] A very warm and friendly welcome from our young, talented and vibrant crew.

Which Tenders and Toys best compliment her?

[Captain] Carrying a helicopter, three tenders, three Sea-Doos, two laser sailing dinghies and much, much more BOLD offers many toys to play with – all of which compliment the vessel.

What is the most rewarding part of being BOLD’s captain?

[Captain] Getting to facilitate crew and guest alike having fun and going on an adventure.

What can each guest most look forward to when onboard?

[Captain] The vessel offers something for everyone limited only by your imagination. Whether you want to relax in the sun, fly around in the helicopter, go sailing or snorkelling, no matter what your taste or preference, is there is something here for you.

What do you see for the future of the superyacht industry?

[Captain] The industry is experiencing ongoing rapid expansion however is still in its relative infancy. As the world focuses more on sustainability, those shipyards who can best innovate to increase efficiency and reduce the environmental impact will ultimately succeed. As crew and vessels become ever more capable and safety features evolve with new technologies, the appetite for owners to explore less traditional destinations I believe will grow. Bold is leading the industry with this trend.

BOLD will be available for viewings at the 2022 Palm Beach International Boat Show from March 24th to 27th, at Slip C124. You won’t want to miss her.
