A Party Like No Other: Antigua & Barbuda at the 2022 Monaco Yacht Show
If one thing is for sure, Antigua & Barbuda know how to host a party. Taking place on the third evening of the 2022 Monaco Yacht Show, guests were welcomed to the Superyachts.com stand to experience a taste of the Caribbean in the heart of the Mediterranean.
With English Harbour rum flowing and local Antiguan music playing, the Quai Antoine I location was full of life at the Antigua and Barbuda Tourism Authority party.
Marking a close to the third day of the 2022 MYS, guests were invited to witness a flavour of the vibrant lifestyle and phenomenal culture that the magnificent Caribbean islands of Antigua and Barbuda offer to those arriving by superyacht.
A carnival dancer and traditional madras clothing, alongside the iconic rum punch and Antiguan harmonies, set the scene for an evening seemingly far away from Port Hercule.
For the Antigua and Barbuda Tourism Authority, the enjoyable evening was not just about showcasing its skills for throwing an unforgettable party, but about illustrating the endless opportunities available for superyacht owners, charterers and enthusiasts on the islands.
Representatives from across Antigua joined the authority to support in promoting the islands as a superyacht destination like no other.
We spoke to Kaye McDonald, Director of Sales at Antigua & Barbuda Sotheby’s International Realty, Gregory Georges, CEO of the West Indies Oil Company and Devin Joseph, General Manager at the Antigua Yacht Club Marina & Resort, to hear from those at the forefront of contributing to the exceptional, hassle-free Antiguan escapes for superyachts.
There is no doubt that this incredible party transformed guests to the Caribbean for one night only, but for superyacht owners, it doesn't have to end there.
The party was certainly a step in the right direction for the recognition that these stunning Caribbean islands deserve as the next superyacht destination hotspot.
"The atmosphere here is letting people realise that I need to be in Antigua. It's a one-stop-shop: you don't need to go anywhere else."
