A Spectacular Summer Onboard LA FENICE: Exclusively for Charter with SuperyachtsMonaco

By Frances Flannagan

There are hundreds of yachts available on the charter market that can take you to a plethora of different destinations; however, none which represent a piece of yachting history more so than the 29m M/Y LA FENICE. So, why not spend a spectacular charter on board and immerse yourself in the stunning region of the Western Mediterranean this summer.

A masterpiece of engineering and design, LA FENICE was built by Richard Ironworks in 1962 and designed by Laurent Giles Naval Architects, originally commissioned as a support vessel for Anthony Boyden’s 12m SOVEREIGN: his challenger for the 1964 America’s Cup.

After an excellent start to her cruising career, LA FENICE was purchased by the French Navy in the mid 1980s, beginning a new career as a training vessel for the French Customs and Border Force. It wasn’t until 2001 that she was  bought by photographer Peter Lindbergh, before returning to the UK in 2020. Between 2021 and 2023, LA FENICE underwent an extensive refit and refurbishment: now making her debut in 2024 on the global charter market.

Despite her smaller length of 29m, she can accommodate 35 people in port, and up to nine guests overnight across four lavish en suite staterooms. The cabins are configured as three double staterooms and one twin stateroom (double bed and pullman), each styled with a touch of traditional charm to add to the overall classic charter experience. The cabins exude elegance and sophistication, with a neutral colour palette and rich wood finishes, offering the ultimate pockets of relaxation.

French interior designer Christian Liaigre penned her interiors, beautifully balancing modern aesthetics with classical stylings: dark wood flooring paired with panelling of leather accents. LA FENICE’s layout is open-plan, contributing to a spacious feel which harmoniously connects the different living spaces throughout the yacht’s interior.

There are several sociable areas onboard LA FENICE including a main deck aft bar area, complete with a Bose sound system, and there dining areas across both the main and bridge decks.

LA FENICE is exclusively available for charter with SuperYachtsMonaco, offering a slice of Mediterranean paradise to charter guests.
