A Work of Naval Art: An Insight Into Made-To-Measure Custom Line Navetta 38

By Frances Flannagan

Hitting the water in late January 2024, Custom Line has revealed more details on the first hull of the stunning Navetta 38. She offers a unique living experience at sea, characterised by expansive exterior spaces and airy interiors that are illuminated by an abundance of natural light.

The Custom Line Navetta 38 is a new made-to-measure yacht in the Italian yard’s Navetta line. She features an exceptional exterior and interior design, offering the highest standards of cruising pleasure to her Owner and their guests.

Her exteriors have been penned by Filippo Salvetti, and her interiors were overseen by ACPV ARCHITECTS Antonio Citterio Patricia Viel, with each element of her design expressing the values intrinsic to the brand’s DNA: quality, generous volumes and unparalleled comfort.

To achieve the Owner’s vision, extraordinary combinations of elegance, aesthetics and technology were implemented into the first Navetta 38. A key aspect of her design is the concept of being close to the water, a fluidity that is mirrored in the flowing nature of her layout.

The Navetta 38’s exterior is marked by a timelessly classic design language, with simple and harmonious lines exuding a refined luxury. Form and function are meticulously blended in every detail, attributing her a personality of both strength and sophistication.

She spans three decks that host an array of convivial spaces, and is able to accommodate up to 12 guests across five cabins. The Owner’s suite is a breathtaking oasis onboard, boasting 40 sqm of space. The central bed dominates the setting, featuring an eye-catching leather-weave headboard, with other standout elements including a shower that can also be used as a steam room and two walk-in wardrobes.

Interior volumes have been carefully controlled to ensure the optimal level of spaciousness throughout. A plethora of glass has been used throughout to increase natural light and to create seamless continuity between the interiors and the marine environment.

A chromatic leitmotif characterises the interiors of the Navetta 38, with neutral colours enriched with natural materials. A standout element of her design is a three-dimensional oak ceiling that adds a stunning ribbed structure, a theme that is echoed in the rounded oak doors, influsing the atmosphere with warmth and lightness.

Her beach club and main deck cockpit span over 70 sqm, with the former able to be extended on both sides when at anchor and the latter offering a generous and multi-functional area.

The living area on the main deck can be accessed from the beach club via a sliding full-height glass door, opening into a formal setting that embodies Custom Line’s signature elegance. The ceiling heights stretch to over two metres, and full-height windows convey a feeling of fluidity, further enhancing direct contact to the sea.

The main deck is also home to a 42 sqm salon that features an array of luxurious elements, including a beautiful B&B Italia Maxalto leather pouffe that can also be used as a coffee table. This area can also be transformed into a screening room, with a television able to drop down from the ceiling, just one example of the many technological wonders found on this superyacht.

Her upper deck is home to a plethora of stunning social areas, including an outdoor lounge, a panoramic indoor saloon, a sky lounge and a sunset lounge. Her sun deck boasts a total surface area of 65 sqm, split into four outdoor areas that blend with one another to offer a unique 360 degree view, featuring a jacuzzi, barbeque area and bar zone.

Alongside a truly mesmerising interior and exterior design, the Navetta 38 is perfect for covering long distances with reduced fuel consumption, able to reach a top speed of 15 knots with a range of 2,800nm at 10 knots. She is Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) ready, bringing her NOx emissions down by 70 percent.

The first hull of this model represents the pinnacle of modern yacht design, harmoniously fusing a classic and timeless beauty with state-of-the-art technology and optimised spaces: a true work of art on the water.
