ALVA: A New Chapter as Damen Yachting Delivers Latest Amels 60
There is something quietly significant about a superyacht built on a proven platform that still manages to feel entirely fresh. ALVA, the latest delivery from Damen Yachting's Amels 60 series, does exactly that and her timing couldn't be more deliberate.
Delivered in February 2026 and formally named at a ceremony in Vlissingen, ALVA departs the Dutch yard with a clear commercial purpose: to redefine what a charter yacht in the 60-metre segment can offer. Measuring 60 metres overall with accommodation for 12 guests across six suites, she arrives on the market at a moment when charter clients are increasingly seeking yachts that feel personal.
Her interiors, penned by Harrison Eidsgaard, prioritise calm over spectacle. A considered choice for a charter context where guests often want to decompress rather than be dazzled. Light is used as a design tool throughout, with fluid transitions between indoor and outdoor spaces forming the conceptual backbone of the scheme. The exterior, a timeless exercise in restraint from Espen Øino, is defined by its clean lines and distinctive trapezoid windows; architecture that ages well and photographs even better.
What makes ALVA particularly interesting is the story of her build. Sold in late 2025, her owner joined the programme only a few months before delivery, a testament to what the Amels Limited Editions concept is engineered to enable. Despite the compressed timeline, the yacht carries a series of bespoke modifications specifically calibrated to enhance charter appeal, including a Sun Deck with an outdoor cinema, a semi-enclosed gym, a large spa tub, a Main Deck Owner's suite with fold-down balcony, and a Beach Club positioned as both a wellness retreat and entertainment hub.
Will Christie, CEO of Christie Yachts, which will manage ALVA's charter programme, commented: 'ALVA brings together Amels build quality, a beautiful Harrison Eidsgaard designed interior and a dedicated crew to create a truly special charter yacht. She is a welcome addition to our fleet, and we believe she will become a firm favourite among clients who appreciate outstanding service and a wonderful charter experience.'
This summer, ALVA will cruise France, Italy, the Balearic Islands and Greece before repositioning to the Caribbean for the 2026/27 winter season; an itinerary that signals genuine ambition in the charter market.
For Damen Yachting, ALVA represents something beyond another line item in a delivery schedule. Jorrit Pilaar, Commercial Executive EMEA at Damen Yachting, reflected: 'Parting with a yacht is always a poignant moment for our team, but we are very happy to see ALVA commence this first chapter with her Owner.'
In a segment where the gap between expectation and experience is everything, ALVA appears well-positioned to close it.
