Amels 80: Keel Laid of the First Largest Limited Editions to Date
The keel of the first Amels 80, referred to as Amels 8001, has officially been laid at the Damen Yachting hull building facilities in Galati, Romania. At 80m in length, Amels 8001 will become the first of the largest Limited Editions to date. She is due for delivery in Spring 2025.
Laying the keel of the newest creation in the Amels Limited Editions range marks another magnificent milestone in the build process of the first Amels 80 superyacht, following the announcement of her steel cutting at the beginning of June.
At 80m in length with exteriors by Espen Øino and interiors by Sinot Yacht Architecture, the Amels 8001 has been designed for the future. Boasting sustainable materials throughout, and incredible, innovative hybrid technology, the new vessel marks a new and greener era for the Dutch yard.
Following her iconic introduction to the world via a global online launch at the end of March, Amels 8001 has gained plenty of attention, and we can certainly see why. The shipyard highlighted how ‘expectations are high’, as the world looks on to see her come to life over the next few years.
Adriaan Roose, Product Manager at Amels commented: ‘every new yacht challenges us to push the limits of our absolute mastery. Decades of Amels pedigree, experience and knowhow have fed the creation of the Amels 80.’
Amels 8001 can comfortably accommodate 14 guests and 20 crew members. A gross tonnage of 2,175 offers bounds of space onboard, with particular highlights including the largest top deck in her class and a spacious, versatile beach club; she truly offers everything and more for a yacht of her size.
We are excited to see Amels 8001 progress through her build process, and will certainly bring readers the latest news from the Dutch shipyard.
